    At the recent AOA meeting in Melbourne a formal debate was held between surgeons who utilise the posterior approach and those who utilise the anterior approach. The higher complication rate with anterior hip replacement was highlighted and there was little evidence presented that showed any proven benefit to this riskier procedure.
